Taylor's first interview

As you can tell from the video, Taylor Street has quite a bit to tell us. His accent is a little thick, see if you can capture the meaning behind the meaning.

Rogers Grandchildren

For the first time, we had all the Rogers grandchildren in one place. This past Sunday Taylor's cousins Joy and Anna Kate came over to visit with their parents Bill and Johnna Johnston. Boy did we have a good time. Joy was completely impressed with Taylor Street for about 30 seconds and then was much more interested in Taylor Street's toy tools. Looks like she takes after her mother when it comes to wanting to "fix things."

Some Amazing Pictures

Our good friend Kirsi Ingram came over the other day and took some professional pictures of Taylor Street. I'll let you be the judge but we are completely amazed at what an incredible job she did! Here are our two favorites.

Taylor's first real bath!

Since his umbilical cord fell off on Sunday, we were able to finally give him a real bath. Notice his little piggie dry off towel. Now I don't care who you are, that's pretty cute right there.

Taylor like taking naps with Daddy

One of our new favorite pastimes in naps. I didn't realize that it was so much fun before, but now that I am up a few times during the night, I have had time to think about it and I am sure that it is quite a bit of fun. Here are a few pics of Taylor and me enjoying our new favorite activity.

Recent Bath Time

For the first time the other day I got to give Taylor Street his first bath. Thought everyone would want to see some pictures of the aftermath. He was making the cutest faces, but my camera skills are limited so I wasn't doing as great a job of catching them all.

A visit from cousin's Stephanie and Seth

Our cousin's Stephanie and Seth Bearden came by yesterday. It was amazing to see how big Seth has gotten. Stephanie is 7 months pregnant (seems like everyone is in the baby way) and doing wonderful. They had enjoyed a fun weekend with her sister Melissa and family this week at Six Flags. Of course it wasn't a really great week until they had come to meet their new cousin!

Congratulations to the Pearsons!!

Please help us welcome Katherine Ann Pearson into the world. All is well with both mother and daughter (born 7/8/08, 12:20PM, 6lbs 10oz).

This was the message that I recieved yesterday morning from my good friend David Pearson. It is very exciting to have so many friends having the same experiences as we are. Once routine starts to break out with the children, it will really be a lot of fun to get together and compare notes. Here is a little picture of the new addition.

Taylor is 2 weeks old!!!

Well, we have now officially started taking care of Taylor on our own. Martha (Emily's mom) and Melloy (JF's mom) helped get us through the first two weeks including Taylor's first road trip over the 4th of July weekend to Temple,TX to visit Emily's family. He had a great time and got to meet many of his extended family for the first time. We also found out that Taylor loves car rides. He slept for the entire trip down there and back which was especially impressive since I-35 was a parking lot on the way home on Sunday. Thankfully, Daddy Jimmy is a master navigator and was able to get us home using some of Texas' finest backroads, even if it did take an hour longer. Here are some pictures of Taylor's big weekend and if he looks a little bigger, he is! We had his 2 week follow up visit at the doctor's office yesterday and received a great report that he had put on over 11oz. and had grown another 1". Way to go little fella!

Taylor is 1 week old!

How exciting! Taylor is now officially one week old. It has been a very exciting first week. We have learned quite a bit about functioning without much sleep. Whatever you think you know about staying up for long periods of time without sleeping, forget it. Taking care of a baby is the most intense thing that I have ever been a part of. And when it is your baby, you don't have the option of just handing them back to their parents and going your own way. Your an owner!

I also want to send out a special congratulations to Travis and Lauren Nance. I just heard from Travis that his sister Julie and her husband just had their baby today. So next time you see Uncle Travis and Aunt Lauren, congratulate them on their big accomplishment.

And for Johnna and whomever else is needing their updated pictures of Taylor, here is something to help get you by.
